Originally from a family with deep roots in the area, Willum spent his formative years in Germany between the ages of 7 - 18 while his father served in the British Army.
Drawing from his personal experiences of stress, anxiety and deep depression which lead to a suicide attempt in 2013, Willum strives to shed light on mental illness, giving factual information whilst discussing the the emotions that accompany these conditions.
Through his writing, he aims to foster understanding and empathy, helping others deal with their own mental illness problems.
