Electrical Storm by Marcia Lake

In the novella, Electrical Storm, the lines between fiction and reality blur unexpectedly. Mary is a dancer, with a whimsical nature; she gave up dancing to be a writer. She has a beloved cat named Lily. She wants to leave some kind of legacy when she dies and so writes a book which features a character named Masha.

Unbeknownst to Mary, Masha is not only a figment of her imagination, but a real person living in the world beyond the pages. Through a series of events, Masha becomes the new guardian of Lily the cat, forever linking her to the late author.

In a bookshop one day, Masha is astonished to find a book telling her own story. As she delves into its pages, she uncovers the connections between love, gratitude and the wonders of the universe, all centred around the cat Lily.

Marcia Lake has an ordinary day job. Her father owns a village shop in Surrey where she helps out from time to time. She is also a writer and singer-songwriter. Marcia writes stories and songs about own her experiences and the people in her life. This is her first published novella. In addition to her writing and music, particularly playing the piano, Marcia enjoys a reading, going for walks, visiting the gym, and travel.
She lives in Crawley, West Sussex, where she shares her home with her cat… Lily.
